Taking Position On JEA Ill-Founded Solar Policy

If you care about the future of the Sunshine State then you have to care about the future of solar power. Unfortunately, just as the idea of Net-Zero Energy and net metering is finding some real footing, staff at JEA is attempting to pull the rug out from under it. We were compelled to take a position with the Lead Letter in the April 16, 2016 Florida Times Union. That letter is posted below.

Please read it and share this post with others. Chime in with a comment to share your opinion. And if you agree that solar power should be encouraged instead of discouraged by JEA staff let the board know your opinion as well.

Thanks, in advance, for helping to support Solar Power in the Sunshine state. It just makes sense.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: In Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) has changed their policy in 2018 with regards to their net-metering program. This will change the net-metering details which will make the overall benefit back to the homeowner different. We are still assessing this information and will change the information on this page to reflect that as soon as we are aware of the full details. Please contact one of our experienced staff members for the latest information on this.
