TerraWise executive works in Springfield and now lives there in home built by the company.
Director of Operations Jac Shacter recently moved into his new TerraWise Home in Springfield, further cementing the company's presence in Jacksonville's historic neighborhood.
"I love this neighborhood and the houses we build so buying one of our homes has been my goal for a while," said Jac. "Also loving the low monthly electric bills. We moved from 750 s.f. to over 1700 s.f. and have an electric bill that is actually less. Our bill averaged $130 a month in the smaller place and is now down to $100 a month - and we keep it between 70 and 74 at all times."
When Jac decided to purchase a home timing was right with a Talbot already underway in Springfield. The two story plan was perfect for him and his significant other, her two young children, a chinchilla and three cats.
"We definitely needed something that could accommodate our diverse household and the Talbot fit the bill perfectly," said Jac. "The house is on a beautifully wooded lot and the location is great. We can ride our bikes or walk to lunch or down to one of the three breweries and all the other shops and services now in Springfield."
TerraWise has had its office in Springfield from the beginning. Originally on North Main Street, the company relocated to the current location at 1334 Walnut Street a few years ago when they acquired the building. Jac and the rest of the TerraWise team are very active in the neighborhood and the company sponsors several events annually including Porchfest, Holiday Home Tour and many others.
